Just a few months after calling time on his career, Tyson Fury has once again ignited speculation with a cryptic gym video — and boxing fans are buzzing. The 36-year-old heavyweight, who hung up his gloves in January following a second straight defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, appeared on social media Monday with his former trainer SugarHill Steward, dropping a not-so-subtle hint that he’s not done yet.

“Just in the gym. Happened to bump into someone you might know,” Fury says in the clip, panning over to Steward, who grins and adds, “You know what time it is.” Fury closes the tease with: “You know what’s coming.”

And just like that, the comeback rumours are back on.

Never Really Gone?

Fury’s history of retirements — and returns — is almost as famous as his title wins. This is his fifth public exit from boxing, and after each one, the question was always when, not if, he’d return.

His recent absence followed a pair of punishing losses to Usyk in Saudi Arabia, ending his unbeaten streak and shaking up the heavyweight hierarchy. But with Usyk now booked to rematch Daniel Dubois this July, and Anthony Joshua waiting in the wings, the stage feels set for one final chapter.

The Joshua Fight That Never Happened

Despite years of hype, Fury and Joshua have never faced off in the ring. Their paths were always close — never crossing. Many in the boxing world still see it as the biggest fight left to make, especially in Britain.

Even promoter Eddie Hearn recently hinted it could still happen, telling iFL TV that all it might take is a simple call from Fury to Joshua to seal the deal.

“He’ll say, ‘You fancy it?’ and AJ will go, ‘100%, let’s do it.’ Boom — fight made,” said Hearn.

A Coincidental — or Calculated — Tease?

The timing of Fury’s video raised eyebrows. It came just hours after Usyk’s summer rematch with Dubois was confirmed. Fury had previously stolen headlines during a press conference for Dubois vs. Parker by announcing his retirement. Now, he’s grabbing attention again — but this time it’s all about what might be next.

Arum, Warren Urge Caution

Not everyone is convinced. Fury’s former promoter Bob Arum believes the boxer may be done for good, suggesting a man with millions in the bank might not want to slog through another training camp. “A rich guy in silk pyjamas doesn’t get up to do roadwork,” Arum joked.

Frank Warren, who still represents Fury, echoed a similar view: “That’s his decision. If he wants to come back, I won’t talk him into it. He should enjoy life with his family.”

One Last Dance?

Whether this was a bit of playful trolling or the start of another chapter, Fury knows how to control a narrative. And after a career of epic wins, dramatic exits, and headline-making quotes, perhaps this tease is just the beginning of his final act.

The message was clear: “You know what’s coming.” Now the boxing world waits to see if he really means it.
