Nashville Predators forward Steven Stamkos has been named the NHL’s Second Star of the Week, earning recognition for his standout performances on the ice. He ranked behind Colorado Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon (First Star) and ahead of Washington Capitals’ Tom Wilson (Third Star).

Stamkos had an impressive week, racking up eight points in three games, including four goals and four assists. He ended a 13-game scoreless streak with a goal and two assists in a big win over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday. He followed that up with two assists against the Seattle Kraken on Thursday before delivering his most memorable performance of the week on Saturday. That night, Stamkos scored a hat trick—his first in a Predators jersey and the 14th of his career—leading Nashville to a dramatic 3-2 overtime victory against the Chicago Blackhawks.

His third goal of the night was not only the game-winner but also a milestone moment, pushing him past NHL legend Mike Bossy on the league’s all-time goal-scoring list. Stamkos now sits at 576 career goals, just one shy of Mark Recchi’s 577, which ranks 22nd in NHL history.

Steven Stamkos Making an Impact in Nashville

At 35 years old, Stamkos continues to be a force on the ice. In his first season with the Predators, he has tallied 21 goals and 20 assists, bringing his point total to 41. He currently ranks third in team scoring, behind Filip Forsberg (57 points) and Jonathan Marchessault (48 points).

Stamkos joined Nashville last summer after signing a four-year, $32 million contract, leaving behind a legendary 16-season run with the Tampa Bay Lightning. While adjusting to a new team can take time, he has quickly proven his value, bringing leadership, experience, and clutch performances to the Predators. With the season heating up, his contributions will be crucial as Nashville pushes toward the playoffs.
