Stephen Curry has once again cemented his legacy as the greatest shooter in NBA history. On Thursday night, during the Golden State Warriors’ dominant 130-104 victory over the Sacramento Kings, Curry became the first player to make 4,000 career three-pointers.

The historic shot came in the third quarter, with Curry executing a signature pump fake, dribble, and smooth release. The Warriors celebrated the moment with a video message from former teammate Andris Biedrins, who assisted on Curry’s first-ever NBA three-pointer. Reflecting on the milestone, Curry said,

“It was a special moment to feel that energy and allow them to enjoy that milestone and accomplishment with me.”

Though Curry finished with a modest 11 points, his impact on the game was undeniable. His achievement adds another chapter to an already legendary career that has redefined the modern game.

Every three is a record. This one sets an entirely new standard.

Stephen Curry’s Record-Breaking Journey

When Curry entered the league, no player had ever reached 3,000 three-pointers. Now, he stands alone at 4,000 and counting. His dominance is evident in the record books:

  • All-time leader in three-pointers made (4,000 and counting)
  • Ranks 13th in career three-point percentage while taking far more shots than those ahead of him
  • Holds 26 of the NBA’s 104 games with at least 10 three-pointers
  • Owns five of the seven seasons in NBA history with 300+ three-pointers

Curry passed Ray Allen’s long-standing record of 2,973 threes in 2021 and has continued to shatter expectations. He also recently became the 26th player in NBA history to surpass 25,000 career points.

With the Warriors thriving since acquiring Jimmy Butler, the question isn’t if Curry will continue making history—it’s how far he can push the limits of long-range shooting. Coach Steve Kerr jokingly suggested the next milestone: “Eight thousand.” While that number may seem impossible, if anyone can do it, it’s Steph Curry.
