Barcelona pulled off a stunning turnaround on Saturday night, battling back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat Celta Vigo 4-3 at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. A dramatic penalty deep into stoppage time from Raphinha capped off a wild evening and gave the La Liga leaders a vital win in their title chase.

Match Summary

Barcelona took the lead early through Ferran Torres in the 12th minute, but Celta Vigo hit back quickly. Borja Iglesias leveled just three minutes later and went on to complete a hat-trick with two more goals in the 52nd and 62nd minutes, giving the visitors a shocking 3-1 advantage.

However, the hosts responded with urgency. Dani Olmo cut the deficit in the 64th minute, and just four minutes later, Raphinha struck to bring the game level at 3-3. Barcelona continued to push for a winner, and it came in dramatic fashion.

In the 98th minute, Olmo was brought down inside the area. After a lengthy VAR check, the referee awarded a penalty. Raphinha stepped up and calmly slotted it home, sealing the comeback and sending the stadium into celebration.

What This Means

The victory extends Barcelona’s lead at the top of La Liga to seven points ahead of Real Madrid, who are set to play Athletic Bilbao on Sunday. It also continues their dominant run over Celta Vigo, having now won four straight against them in the league.

Despite Borja Iglesias’ heroics, Celta Vigo walk away with nothing after coming so close to pulling off an upset. For Barcelona, it’s a statement win that strengthens their grip on the title race.
