For the Second Season in a Row, Hansen Yang's Talent Is Undeniable

Chinese basketball sensation Yang Hansen has officially announced his entry into the 2025 NBA Draft. The 19-year-old center described it as “the most important decision” of his life during an interview with Xinhua News Agency.

“I want to showcase myself on a bigger stage,” said Yang, reflecting on his basketball journey so far.

Gaining Confidence on the Global Stage

Yang first made international headlines at the 2023 FIBA U19 Men’s Basketball World Cup, where he competed against the world’s top young talents. His strong performances there, along with valuable experience gained at the NBA Summer League with China’s national team, helped fuel his ambition to take his game to the next level.

CBA Breakout Season

Currently starring for the Qingdao Eagles in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), Yang helped lead his team to the playoff quarterfinals. Despite a close 3-2 series loss to the top-seeded Zhejiang Lions, Yang stood out with impressive numbers.

This season, he averaged:

  • 16.6 points
  • 10.5 rebounds
  • 3 assists
  • 1 steal
  • 2.6 blocks per game (leading the league)

His standout performance earned him a starting spot in the CBA All-Star Game and a place on the All-CBA Chinese Player First Team.

Joining Klutch Sports

In January, Yang signed with Klutch Sports Group, the agency founded by Rich Paul and home to NBA stars like LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Through Klutch, Yang has been working with experienced coaches from the U.S. to refine his skills and prepare for life in the NBA.

“I’m ready both mentally and physically,” Yang shared, as he continues advanced training programs both in China and abroad.

National Team Debut

Yang also made his senior national team debut earlier this year during the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. He scored 13 points and handed out 4 assists in just 19 minutes, helping China dominate Mongolia in an 80-49 win.

Looking Ahead

Yang’s size (2.18 meters), skill set, and international experience make him one of the most exciting Asian prospects in recent NBA Draft history. With determination and strong support behind him, he is set to begin a new chapter on basketball’s biggest stage.
